Overall quite comfortable, with or without socks. If you aren't actively in water, I'd wear socks, otherwise they feel kinda funky. But when you are in and out of water with them they feel fine without socks. They are quite breathable, but drain a little slow. I took a drill and opened up all of the drain holes in the removable insert and they drain much faster now. Only took a few minutes to modify, but they should have came like it from the factory. Pleased with product!
